Asian School Hosts Second Edition of Successful Model United Nations Conference.
AMUN ignites passion, sparks dialogue and empowers the next generation of global leaders.
The Asian School proudly hosted the Model United Nations Conference on 25th and 26th April 2026.
The concept behind the Model United Nations (TAS AMUN) was to inspire students from classes VI to XII to consider issues that transcend their immediate surroundings. Its goal was to nurture skills like critical thinking, persuasive argumentation, decision-making and empowering participants to play an active role in shaping their own future and that of the global community. All students demonstrated remarkable enthusiasm and engagement, showcasing critical thinking and diplomatic skills through active participation in debates and discussions.
With a robust participation of 600 delegates from 8 prominent public schools in Dehradun, TASMUN-2026 witnessed lively discussions and debates across 16 committees, including the, United General Assembly (UNGC),United Nations Security Council (UNSC), United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime ,United Nations Human Rights Council ( UNHRC),United Nations Commission On the Status Of Women, United Nations Environmental Assembly ( Junior Committee) ,World Health Organisation ( WHO) ,Continuous Crisis Committee, Indo-Pak War Cabinet , All India Political Parties Meet ,Lok Sabha ,Anime Committee, Marvel, IPL Auction Committee, Ministry Of Magic and International Press .
Today’s The Chief Guest, Major Mohammad Ali Shah, shared his experiences with the students regarding leadership, self-confidence, career development, and national and security matters.”, Mrs. Ruchi Pradhan Datta, Principal, The Asian School, highlighted the significance of the United Nations as a platform for collaboration and problem-solving. She underscored the importance of students from various schools uniting to exchange ideas and tackle global challenges. Additionally, Mrs. Datta emphasized that AMUN sparks curiosity and passion in young minds, fostering a deeper understanding of global affairs.
Participating schools, including Unison World School, Ecole Globale International Girls School, The Tons Bridge School, Tula’s International School, The Gyananda Girls school, The Aryan School, The Oasis and The Asian School contributed to the conference’s success, enriching discussions with diverse perspectives.
The dignitaries present were, Principal Mrs. Ruchi Pradhan Datta, Bursar Mr. Sandesh Sharma, Head Senior School Mr. Mukesh Nangia, Dean of Activities Ms. Shweta Matta and Deputy Head Junior Wing Ms. Surbhi Narula. The programme was coordinated by the and the entire staff.
