The Asian School, Dehradun, celebrated its 22 nd Annual Prize Giving Ceremony with great splendour and enthusiasm. The grand occasion stood as a powerful testament to the institution’s unwavering commitment to honouring excellence, perseverance, and holistic development.
The distinguished Chief Guest, Mr. Manoj Kumar Gupta, Regional Officer, CBSE Dehradun, graced the ceremony with his esteemed presence. The event commenced with the traditional lighting of the ceremonial lamp, a solemn and auspicious ritual symbolising the dispelling of darkness and the pursuit of knowledge.
The lamp was lit by the Chief Guest, the Director Principal, Mr. Anant Vijay Dutt Thapliyal, and other dignitaries, marking the formal inauguration of the ceremony and setting a tone of reverence and hope. Following the lamp-lighting ceremony, the audience was captivated by vibrant cultural performances, including a graceful classical dance presentation on Ganpati Vandana, followed by a soulful rendition of a Kabir Bhajan. The highlight of the day was the awards distribution ceremony, a momentous celebration of scholastic brilliance and exemplary character.
A total of 706 awards were conferred upon deserving students. The ceremony recognised excellence across various categories. The HRT Award honoured 75 students for regularity and exemplary conduct, while 126 students received the Teacher’s Award for securing 75% and above in three subjects. The Principal’s Award was presented to 279 students who achieved 80% and above, and 201 students earned the prestigious Governor’s Award for scoring 90% and above. Additionally, 20 students were recognised for 100% attendance, and 5 students were awarded for outstanding story writing. In his eloquent address, the Director Principal spoke passionately about the power of education, urging students to think independently and pursue their aspirations with courage and determination.
The Chief Guest, Mr. Manoj Kumar Gupta, also delivered an inspiring speech and lauded the students for their remarkable accomplishments. Parents beamed with pride and joy as their children were felicitated on stage. The ceremony concluded with the singing of the National Anthem, evoking a profound sense of unity and patriotism. The event created an atmosphere of celebration and inspiration, leaving an indelible impression on all who attended.
