The Asian School, Dehradun, resplendently celebrated its 21st Annual Prize Giving Ceremony, a grand occasion that stood as a powerful testament to the institution’s unwavering commitment to honouring excellence, perseverance, and holistic development.
The distinguished Chief Guest, Mr. Manish Aggarwal, Joint Secretary and Regional Officer of CBSE Dehradun, lent gravitas to the ceremony with his esteemed presence. His inspirational words later in the programme deeply resonated with both students and teachers.
The event commenced with the traditional lighting of the ceremonial lamp, a solemn and auspicious ritual signifying the dispelling of darkness and the pursuit of knowledge. The lamp was lit by the Chief Guest, the Principal, Ms. Ruchi Pradhan Datta and other esteemed members such as, marking the formal inauguration of the day’s proceedings and setting a tone of reverence and hope.
Following the lamp lighting, vibrant cultural performances unfolded, including a graceful dance performance on Shiv Stuti.
The highlight of the day was the awards distribution, a momentous celebration of scholastic brilliance and exemplary character. A total of 701 awards were conferred during the ceremony.
The ceremony celebrated student excellence through various awards. The HRT Award honoured 105 students for regularity and conduct, while 152 received the Teacher’s Award for scoring 75%+ in three subjects. The Principal’s Award went to 237 high achievers with 80%+, and 170 earned the prestigious Governor’s Award for scoring 90%+. Additionally, 32 students were recognized for 100% attendance, and 5 were awarded for outstanding story writing.
The principal, in her eloquent address, spoke passionately about the power of freedom in education, urging students to think independently and courageously pursue their aspirations.
The Chief Guest, Mr. Aggarwal, delivered an inspiring speech, sharing insightful anecdotes and lauding the students’ accomplishments.
The parents beamed with pride and joy as their children were felicitated. The ceremony concluded with the singing of the National Anthem, evoking a sense of unity and pride. Every individual witnessed an ambience of celebration and inspiration, leaving an indelible mark on all who attended. It was a fitting tribute to the ideals of excellence and resilience that The Asian School upholds.
