The Asian School reaffirmed its values and traditions during its annual Aashirvachan and Deepotsav ceremonies, which were held on the school campus. Aashirvachan, the annual custom of showering blessings on Class 10th students preparing for their Board examinations, was organised in the morning, while Deepotsav—symbolising truth, wisdom, strength, and righteousness, and marking both a heartfelt farewell to the graduating Class 12th students and the beginning of a new journey—was celebrated in the evening.
Amid the glow of earthen lamps adorning the White House court, students appearing for the CBSE Board examinations were blessed with Kalawa and Tilak, symbolising good fortune. The auspicious ceremony commenced with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp by the Principal and other school dignitaries, followed by a beautifully rendered Vandana by the school choir.
The Principal and the school’s senior faculty showered their blessings upon the outgoing batch of Class 12th (Session 2025–26). Students were also presented with framed class photographs as cherished mementos. In her address, the Principal, Ms. Ruchi Pradhan Datta, encouraged students to face challenges with courage, confidence, and discipline, and shared valuable tips for effective examination preparation.
A highlight of the evening was the symbolic exchange of lamps from the outgoing prefects to their successors, representing the passing on of responsibility and leadership. Emotional speeches by students reflected gratitude towards their teachers and fond memories of their school journey.
The ceremony was graced by Mr. Gaganjyot Juneja, Director, Mr. Sundesh Sharma, Bursar, Mr. Mukesh Nangia, Head Senior School, Mr. Sachin Agarwal, Head Middle School, Ms. Anu Mehrotra, Headmistress, Ms. Surbhi Narula, Deputy Head Junior School, Mr. Sanjay Rana, HOD Sports, Ms. Shweta Matta, Dean of Activities, along with members of the teaching fraternity and the student community.
The celebrations concluded on a note of nostalgia and hope, capturing the spirit of resilience and excellence that defines The Asian School and inspiring students to step confidently into the next phase of their academic journey.
