The 26th Annual Inter House Athletic Meet of The Asian School, Dehradun, commenced on 11th October and concluded on 15th October 2025 amidst the scenic splendour of The Woods. The grand finale was graced by Squadron Leader Saurabh Sharma, alumnus of the school and fighter pilot of the indigenous Tejas Jet at Sulur Air Force Station, Coimbatore. He was accompanied by his wife, Ms. Anusha Sharma, and family.
Over five days of spirited competition, students from all four houses displayed exemplary athleticism, teamwork, and sportsmanship. Shivaji House emerged as the Overall Champion, clinching the coveted Inter House Athletic Trophy for 2025–26, along with the March Past Trophy for their synchronised precision and unity.
Ishi Sharma and Shaurya Basera from Ashoka House were declared Best Athletes (Girls and Boys) respectively, for their outstanding performances. The audience was captivated by the vibrant Saree Drill presented by the Middle School students, showcasing flawless synchronisation and graceful coordination. Adding to the excitement, a friendly Tug of War between the parents and the staff brought cheers all aroundwith the staff team emerging victorious.
A special mention was made of Shviti Kumar, who represented India at the Asian Cadet Cup 2025, qualified for the National Games, and secured 10th position nationally at the CBSE National Fencing Championship.
In his address, the Chief Guest commended the athletes and highlighted the importance of perseverance, discipline, and traditional values — Satyam, Shivam, Sundaram — as guiding principles in life.
He was felicitated with a memento by Principal Mrs. Ruchi Pradhan Datta. The Chief Guest officially declared the Meet closed, marking a dignified conclusion to the event as the school flag was ceremoniously lowered to the poignant tune of The Last Post. The flag was then handed over to Retd. Subedar Sanjay Kumar Rana, HOD Sports (APTC) by the principal.
The event concluded with a Vote of thanks by the Head Girl Anvishita Yadav expressing gratitude to the Chief Guest, Principal, staff, and students. The occasion was graced by Directors Mr. Gaganjyot Juneja and Mrs. Vartika Sah Juneja, Retd. Colonel Sumit Datta, Head Senior School Mr. Mukesh Nangia, Deputy Head Junior School Ms. Surbhi Narula and the entire faculty and student body of The Asian School.
