11th All India Asian Basketball Tournament Closing Ceremony 2024

The 11 th All India Inter School Asian Basketball Tournament for Boys Under-19 came to a grand close on the evening of April 29, 2024, at The Asian School, Dehradun. This prestigious event saw a spirited competition among 12 schools across four exhilarating days.

The first semifinal was between Corvuss American Academy (CAB) and Pestle Weed School (PWS). Corvuss American Academy won with score of 50/48.

The second semifinal was between The Asian School (TAS) and Wynberg Allen School (WAS). Corvuss American Academy won with score of 48/39.


The final match saw The Asian School clashing with Corvuss American Academy in an intense showdown, with score of 60/53 triumphed, claiming the title of the 11 th All India Inter School Asian Challenge Basketball Tournament champions.


The tournament was graced by the presence of Mr. Avnish Kumar Yadav, former International player and coach, as the Chief Guest, who offered his congratulations to the teams with a handshake and good wishes. Mr. Sukhjinder Singh, another former International player, was the special Guest of Honour, adding further prestige to the event.


The most valuable player of the tournament was awarded to an outstanding player Heisnam Daniel Mangang from The Asian School for his remarkable performance, while a talented young athlete Suraj Gupta from Corvuss American Academy, Mumbai was recognized as the most promising player of the tournament.


The closing ceremony was further dignified by the presence of prominent dignitaries including Mr. Madanjeet Singh, Vice President of The Asian School; Director; Mr. Gaganjyot Juneja. The Principal, Mrs. Ruchi Pradhan Datta, Mr. Mukesh Nangia, Head Senior School, Ms. Prachi Mehrotra, Headmistress, coaches from participating schools , the officiating referees, along with the staff and the students of The Asian School.

The vote of thanks was eloquently delivered by Saiyoori Dhawan, who expressed gratitude towards all participants, coaches, referees, and staff for their contributions, making this tournament a memorable spectacle of sportsmanship and teamwork.
