The 23 rd Junior Sports Day of The Asian School was held on 18 th October, 2022 in the
sprawling and lush green woods with much fervor and passion.
The Chief Guest for the event was Mrs. Tripti Chopra with an academic experience of 34
years. She has worked in prestigious schools like St. Joseph’s Academy, Cambrian Hall and
also was the founder staff at The Asian School for 5 years.
The highlights of the sports day were 25m, 50m, 80m, 100m and shuttle races of the
Primary School. The Pre-Primary enthralled the audience with their fun filled races which
included ‘Hurdle Race’, ‘Rabbit Race’ and ‘Drag and Win Race’. The students displayed a
wide array of colourful and reverberant events. Participants of classes 4 and 5
demonstrated a ‘Zumba Dance’ which was indeed eye-catching with the message of
importance of fitness and health.
The significance of sports was showcased through a ‘Pop-Up Parade’ performed by classes
1,2 and 3. The children of classes 1 and 2 were dressed as their favourite cartoon characters
like Mickey Mouse, Tom and Jerry etc. It was a joy to watch them perform so confidently.
The children of class 3 were dressed as Superheroes like Spider man, Thor etc. giving the
message that ‘Heroes are made by the path they choose and not the powers they are graced
with.’
Fun filled ‘Brick Race’ for the parents was organized which saw an active participation of
the parents. They acted as a role model to encourage their children to participate in sports.
The Chief Guest, Mrs. Tripti Chopra was delighted to see a large number of young children
participating so enthusiastically. She appreciated the efforts of all the participants and also
emphasized the importance of outdoor games. The energetic performances left the
audience mesmerized and reaped many laurels. The Principal of the Asian School Mrs.
Ruchi Pradhan Datta proposed the vote of thanks.
The other dignitaries present on the occasion were, Director Mr. Gaganjyot Juneja,
Principal Mrs. Ruchi P. Datta, Dean of Activities Mrs. Shweta Matta and Dy.Head of Junior
School Ms. Surbhi Narula.
