Q1. Where is the school exactly located?
Ans. The Asian School is situated on a 15-acre campus, in tranquil and sylvan surroundings of the posh colony of Vasant Vihar Dehradun, very close to the heart of the city. It is about 5 km from the clock tower.

Q2. How far is the school from Delhi?
Ans. The school is about 240 Kms from Delhi.

Q3. How can we go by bus or train or by Air?
Ans. There are buses every one hour going to Dehradun. They take approx. 6 hrs to reach Dehradun. There are trains which bring you overnight to Dehradun with two Shatabadi trains taking 6 hrs each. Also, there are two flights daily to Dehradun which take 40 minutes.

Q4. How far is the school from Dehradun’s Clock Tower?
Ans. It is about 5 Km. from the clock tower, 3 km. from Railway Station, 5 Kmt. from Bust Stand and approximately 20 km. from Airport.

Ans. Yes.

Q6. How does school Society control the school?
Ans. We have to follow all the rules and regulations of the school Society. The school society recruits the staff conducts regular training for them and controls the academics and system.

Ans. The pollution free 15-acre campus is nestled in a cup-shaped valley at the foothills of the Shivalik ranges. The classrooms are spacious and well ventilated. We have provided a computer & projector in classes and other teaching aids, including Internet and multimedia. Physics, Chemistry, Life – Science, Language, Multimedia, Computer, History, Geography Labs have been provided. A Wireless LAN has been set up to access the Internet. We have a well-equipped Library, playgrounds and a swimming pool. There is separate hostel for Junior Boys, Senior Boys and Girls.

Q8. How big is the hostel? What do you provide to them?
Ans. Hostels are large and airy with the capacity of 100 children each with a common room for their leisure and spare time activities.

Q9. Is the girl hostel separate?
Ans. We have a separate hostel for girls. In fact, the Senior boy’s boarding school hostel and the girl’s boarding school hostel are in different campus separated by a gate and a security guard.

Q10. Who looks after the boarder?
Ans. There are Wardens / Matrons, Housemasters and tutor on each floor to look after the boarders. In addition, there are maids & housekeeping to clean and help the younger children get ready. They also help girls and Sikh students who need help with their hair.

Ans. Yes, we have students from different countries. Special care is taken to ensure that International students settle down in the new culture.

Q13. What arrangements have you made for sick students?
Ans. There is an infirmary in the school campus manned round the clock with 2 trained nurses. The best child specialist of Dehradun comes to the school everyday. The school has a tie-up with the one of the best multi specialty hospital for any serious complaint.

Q14. How do you remove the academic shortcomings of the hostlers?
Ans. Remedial classes are held in the afternoon & the evening for the subjects children are weak in..

Q15. What do the children do in the weekends?
Ans. Certain activities are organized in the campus or they are taken out in an organized way.

Q16. When do they go for outings? Who accompanies them?
Ans. Once in a month. They are escorted by Warden or teachers.

Ans. Once in a month. Parents can take their child on the last Saturday for a night out.

Ans. Parents are informed quarterly about their child’s progress at school. They can meet teachers on PTMs and with prior appointments otherwise. The child’s progress and the exam result is available on the school website.

Ans. We follow a zero tolerance system. No act of indiscipline is ignored. We take immediate action.

Q25. How is the food in the hostel?
Ans. Quality home-style hygienic, nutritious veg. and non-veg. Indian, Chinese and Continental food is served in the hostel. Milk is served three times a day. Fruit and dessert once everyday. The food is wholesome, nutritious and tasty.

Q26. What arrangements have you made for the entertainment of the children?
Ans. The hostlers play indoor & outdoor games. They go to the gym and swimming pool. They watch T.V. for half an hour every day.

Q27. Do you have any arrangement for the parents to stay for 2-3 days?
Ans. No, as it disrupts the child’s schedule if the parents stay on campus. In addition, we cannot verify the backgrounds of other people who are escorting the parents. Hence, we do not have that facility keeping in mind your child’s safety.

Ans. Yes, coaches come to train the students in various sports
