The 10th All India Inter School Asian Challenge Basketball Tournament commenced on 27th April 2023. A total of 12 schools participated in this 4 daylong event and played in the league cum knockout format.
Earlier in the first semifinal Corvuss American Academy, Mumbai, team defeated The Maan School, Delhi by 10 points and in the 2nd semifinal The Asian School Dehradun, defeated The Doon School, Dehradun by 11 points. Eventually the Corvuss American Academy, Mumbai & The Asian School, Dehradun reached the finals.
Mr. Mandeep Singh and Mr. Vinod Negi, both International Volleyball players were the Chief Guest and Guest of Honor respectively for the Closing Ceremony. The final match which was to be played on 30th April 2023 was cancelled due to heavy rainfall and The Asian School, Dehradun & Corvuss American Academy, Mumbai were declared joint winners. Master Prabhat Mishra from Corvuss American Academy, Mumbai was declared the ‘most valuable player’ of the tournament and Master Aditya from The Asian School, Dehradun was declared the ‘most promising player’. The Chief Guest congratulated the winners and the participants.
The prominent dignitaries present on the occasion were the Director – Mr. Gaganjyot Singh Juneja, Head Senior School – Mr. Mukesh Nangia, and the Headmistress – Ms. Prachi Mehoratra. Coaches from participating schools, the officiating referees, the staff and the students of The Asian School too were present on the occasion.
The event came to a close with the vote of thanks proposed by Tanisha Aggarwal (Sports Captain- The Asian School, Dehradun).
