The 19th Annual Prize Giving Ceremony was held on May 13, 2023 at the White House Court of The Asian School, Dehradun. A large number of Asianites received awards as a mark of recognition for maintaining consistency in achieving excellence in academics in all examinations. A distinctive criterion has been devised in the school to enlist the students who have secured 90% marks in three out of six subjects. The school also gives commendation awards to students who have shown consistent improvement in the year in their academic achievements.

A total of 649 Asianites received the Awards with 130 students receiving the most coveted Governor’s Award, 260 Principal’s Award, 137 students receiving the Teacher’s Award and 122 HRT’S Award. The Award Ceremony began with the lighting of the traditional ceremonial lamp by the Chief Guest Dr. Mukul Kumar Sati, Additional State Project Director and Joint Director Secondary Education, Uttarakhand.

It was followed by the welcome address by House Captain Gaurika Madan .

Addressing the audience Dr. Mukul Kumar Sati congratulated the students and their teachers for putting up a wonderful show which proved how zealously they all had worked for the performance. Dr. Mukul Kumar Sati commended the school for its efforts in providing an environment which encouraged the students to strive for excellence in every field be it academics or co curricular activities. He also added that the students were lucky to have the guidance from their teachers in school which will help them later in lives and keep them in good stead.

The chief guest was felicitated and was presented a memento by Mr. Madanjeet Singh, Vice President, The Asian School.

A delightful short series of dance and musical performance by the students enchanted the audience with their sublime energy of rhythm and melody. The devotional ‘DURGA VANDANA’ by the school choir was sung to invoke Goddess Durga requesting her to protect and forgive us. The highlight of the show was the Fusion of four major Indian classical dance forms by The Asian dance troupe which mesmerized the audience with their captivating, fluid dance movements and synchronized steps. The song ‘Top of the World’   sung by the school choir enchanted everyone with its upbeat melody and heartfelt lyrics.

Earlier, the Annual Academic report for the year 2022–23 was read out by the Principal, Ms. Ruchi Pradhan Datta The Principal highlighted the importance of parent teacher association in building the child’s confidence and making him/her effective self learner. She also advised the parents to expose the children to the rich culture and tradition of the nation and consider this as an evolved family exercise.

The function was attended by Mr. Madanjeet Singh, Vice President, The Asian School, Director, Mr. Gaganjyot Juneja and Ms. Vartika Shah, Head Senior School, Mr. Mukesh Nangia and Headmistress, Ms. Prachi Mehrotra.

The programme was jointly compered by Gaurika Madan, Ananya Sedha, Naisha Dhyani, Maulik Redhu and Samriddhi Kothiyal and attended by parents, students and the entire faculty. The grand ceremony concluded with the Vote of Thanks proposed by the Head Boy, Shashwat Gupta, this was followed by the National Anthem.
